What is Forensic Nursing?

Forensic Nursing is the application of nursing to the law.

The Forensic Nurse is qualified by education and experience in the evaluation and investigation of trauma, injury or death involving individuals in need of medicolegal intervention. The Forensic Nurse provides direct services to individual clients, consultation services to nursing, medical and law related agencies as well as providing expert court testimony in areas dealing with trauma and/or questioned death investigation processes, adequacy of services delivery and specialized diagnoses of specific conditions related to nursing.
